Gunslinger Spawn #1

This is only half the issue and the other half gets even more wild. I highly recommend everyone go and pick this issue up from your LCS and add the future releases to your pull list!

To start out this review, I just want to start by saying this issue was absolutely amazing. The story direction this is taking to start off is sweet. Gunslinger dies in 1864 and his only motive is to go back in time to kill the people that wronged him.

In the first issue it starts out with some partying with a teen. Whenever McFarlane starts his stories out with a bright character, he is almost immediately going to flip the script and give the character a dark story. The first one he introduces is Taylor Bartlett, a teen partier who drinks and goes to parties with his friends. After his night of partying, he returns back to work after closing early to find the shed he locked up was open. Inside he finds the motorcycle of Gunslinger.

This is where the issue gets good and I was really hooked in.

Gunslinger grips up Taylor after talking with him and yells, “Don’t mess with me, Boy! What’cha talking about, What’s gas?!”

I lost it there and found myself locked in and couldn’t put it down. It then cuts to more talking between the two. Gunslinger starts showing off his weapons until he is picked up off the ground by an angel and flown back into the shed where a battle ensues. It’s then he talks about how its better to shoot angels in the wings to infuriate them, so you can get an easier shot at there head.
