INTERSTELLAR (2014)

Film Score: 9.6/10

Interstellar is one of those movies that always seemed to be very popular among cinema fans, however it was one of those films that I simply never got around to seeing. I recently purchased the flick and I can honestly say I regret not seeing this movie sooner. Christopher Nolan is at his best with an amazing script and story that hooks the audience right from the jump. The film begins with a fresh take on an already established dystopian future. Matthew MCconaughey delivers the performance of his career, accompanied with great performances by Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain and Micheal Caine. The performances derived from the talent are sure to make even those with the thickest skin shed a tear. One scene in particular that always seems to bring me to tears comes when a heartbroken MCconaughey starts weeping after discovering just how long he’s been gone. The Science behind the film is quite complex but fairly easy for the casual viewer to follow which makes this sci-fi epic seem realistic and grounded. The stakes are high and the actors/directors are all on their A-game, however Hanz Zimmer once again steals the show with possibly the best score not only of his career, but in all of Cinema. The Composition is mysterious, thrilling, intense, and bittersweet. This Film feels just about as intense as actually going to space. The Film has quickly become on of my favorites all time, and is a MUST WATCH!
